Key kisses Anglerond on the forehead as he sits, eyes closed still in his trance. She slips down the hall to check on her babies. Finding them happy, she kisses them too and murmurs a promise to be back soon. She slips quietly down the stairs and out the door. She heads for the bluff where she has a view of the see. She strips out of her shoes so she can feel the grass between her toes. She begins slowly with a few slow flowing movements, reacquainting herself with her body. As her muscles grow warm her speed increases until she almost looks like she’s dancing. She stops a long time later when she’s finally out of breath and she sits, sweating and spent, looking out to sea.
Some time later a shadow detaches herself from the building and Rabbit walks up to her sister. An newly found easy smile on her face. Almost all of the traces of the pregnancy weight gone she is a bit curvier then she used to be. Still walking like a dancer though she comes up and hugs her sister from behind.
With her blue eyes whirling she is looking towards the east where the dark clouds have been growing for days now. The rumbling aftershocks have slowed and the birds have stopped falling from the sky.
With a quiet musical tone, “You doing ok sister? You sure you don’t want to stay with the kids. We can take care of this one for you while you rule and rest for awhile.” She raises an eyebrow, knowing the response she will get.
She reaches up and grabs on to Rabbits arms, hugging back what she can reach. She turns her head to look in the direction Rabbit is looking. She watches the dark clouds spread for a long moment.
“I need to go. I need to see this through. I have teo new reasons to see this to its end now. I do worry about them, every second, but Anglerond is an excellent father and will take good care of them. I need help with names. I seem to be drawing a complete blank. Would you help?”
Rabbit walks around so she can face her sister, Their almost a foot and a half height difference between them magnifying how tall Keyleth is compared to her sister who stands barely at her chest height and cranes her neck upward to look at Keyleth’s eyes. While her face does have a serious demeanor when glancing at the clouds, she does smile brightly at Key.
““I would love to help you. Is there any theme, family or tradition of naming you want to follow? Do you want to stick with very gendered names?”
She smiles back and moves her damp hair out of her face. She scoots closer so that their hips are touching as the sit.
“Nothing that is associated with a god, or any of the Royal Families. It would be nice to have names that will let them create there own destinies.” She stops looking at Rabbit with a serious expression.
“Ive been thinking the last day or so. How fair is it to untether myself from the gods but leave my children attached to the system that we’re working to fix? But on the other hand, shouldn’t they be given the opportunity to choose?” She looks to Rabbit with concern.
Rabbit continues watching the clouds, flexing her arms unconsciously as if clutching her swords. She looks over and smiles again,
““No one has stopped to think if this makes us extra vulnerable for others to absorb us up. It freed us, but I don’t know if it protects us from being enslaved by something darker” She looks away thinking,
“Maybe it is better to let them choose. Also, by the time they are older we will know what the cost of being freed is. For now they are like every other surface elf, doomed to happiness in the forest and the loving hearth of Corellon and the Seldarine. At least they aren’t condemned to the pits of the Abyss to be with Lolth.” She gives her a look meant to indicate she is trying to joke.
Key puts an arm around Rabbit and pulls her close.
“You’re just as free as the rest of us. You have your choice of paths to take. Where you end up in your afterlife is for you to choose. You could choose to dedicate yourself to Sekhmet or stay home and raise babies. Your actions will dictate where you go, not some blow hard with to much power that is only concerned with keeping it.”
Rabbit leans her head against her sister,
““Gods are certainly selfish, privileged dung heaps, but I don’t think they all only thing of themselves. I am fairly sure most of them do care in different ways, probably the way different lords care for their subjects.”
She is quiet for a moment, “Do you think you are related to Vandria? Do you think we will find out the real story of the Seldarine and who they are?”
Key looks at the palm of her hand where the red mark blazed months before. She flexes her fingers, then lets the hand go limp in her lap.
“It would seem that someone wants very badly for me to believe that. I guess I feel about it the same way I did when I found out I was a Surana. I’d like some more proof, but until I get that proof Im going to use the tools I have to bring as much good into the world as I can. As far as getting to the real story, I think we’re in a position where we can find the truth but I think there are a lot of powerful beings that will try and stop us from sharing it.” She smiles.
“That’s not going to stop us from doing just that I think.”
Rabbit nods.“I wouldn’t mind finding the truth and maybe exacting some pain on them.”
She looks back at the dark sky, “Someone is going to pay for this.”
Key watches the black cloud roll closer for a few minutes before speaking.
“What do you think is happening there? Do you think it’s retaliation for what we did? Or maybe its one of the three?” She looks back at Rabbit.
“I wouldn’t being what comes around for some of the gods either.”
Rabbit shrugs.“I wonder if its one of the signs that we are supposed to have of where to go to close the gates, or get their pieces of bodies that were buried.”
She continues to watch to dark clouds, eyes intent, whirling.
Key can’t watch the clouds anymore without being in motion. She stands up and moves to give herself some room and manifests her sword and begins a few katas as she talks.
“I guess I expected the key that Luke has to glow or something. I guess it was silly to think that the only lives that would be in danger would be ours.” She finishes up the kata she was on then stops and turns to Rabbit.
“You interested in doing some katas with me? I find it clears my head and helps me think.”
Rabbit smiles at her sister.“Of course.” and with that she flips up onto her legs in a handmaiden stance from a sitting position. It is graceful but she does momentarily have to pivot in mid-air, still adjusting to her new dimensions. Once she lands she slides out her two short blades into a whirling dance.
She smiles at her sister, “I need to figure this out anyways. They took a lot away from me to give to Despek and I don’t know what is left. I never knew what was me and what was her when I fought. Although now I can hear and sense animals even more, not just spiders.”She laughs, “Maybe that means Luke will be happy other things follow me home that don’t have eight legs.”
Key laughs as she begins to move again working herself a bit farther away to give each of them more room.
“Im thinking the frenzy went back to Despek. I think you’ll find your muscles remember most everything else.” She moves quietly for a bit longer before she speaks again.
“Thank you again for taking care of the babies while I went into the sarcophagus.”
Rabbit shakes her head, “No, I feel it still there, I think it’s deeper, bigger. However, I think she had control of it and she made it harder to control. I am scared of it, it isn’t the same so I am not familiar how to stoke it or slow it down..”
She shifts her stance and starts dancing with her blades. Seeming to prefer to close up with Key since her blades are much shorter. She is smiling the whole time.
Key lifts an eyebrow and smiles as Rabbit moves closer. She shortens her movements with her longer blade to compensate for the lack of distance between the two of them.
“Is it something that you are interested in channeling? I could reach out to the monks, they may have a way to help you relearn how to call and control it. They may be willing to send a teacher here.” She speads up her movements and adds some foot work, rolls and flips when the need for a sweeping blade motion is called for.
Rabbit has a sheen of sweat starting to accumulate on her brow. She smiles at Key through clenched teeth, “I wouldn’t say no, I remember how to do it as a maiden and I would like to avoid that as much as possible. I don’t want to risk anything Despek is involved with.”
She grunted from blows landed, as key utilized her strength, she shifts left, barely escaping the tip.
Key straitens her fingers and lets her sword dissipate and begins dodging and attempting to land light touches with her hands and feet. Her speed picks up to make up for the lack of weapons and she makes sure Tabbit knows without words that its okay to continue.
“When we are through I’ll send another letter. Im sure they’ll be happy to help. Have you talked to Luke about it?”
Rabbit shakes her head, “Not yet, he is spending as much time with nestrim as he can. They deserve that, a bit of peace together. He is stuck with me for the next few months.”
She smirks at that though.
Key rolls out of the way of Rabbits blades and grunts at the sting of flat blade on her flank before she sleaks again.
“Its still a competition huh? I think if you took Luke out of the equation the two of you would like each other.” She laughs.
“But then again I think it will all work itself out. There are some babies in those paintings that look an awful lot like Nestrim.” Her words have the soul of a deliberate playful taunt and she refocuses to be ready for Rabbits next attack.
Rabbit chuckles as she shifts her body around, “Actually we get along fine, I would even say I like him. I hope at least that much is true since we are married as well.”
She swings around after being stiffed arm by Keyleth, “There isn’t a competition, I am intentionally trying to give them space, I get Luke for months at a time when we travel. We aren’t best friends yet, but evidently in our three ways I am comfortable enough with him to not mind it when he puts his penis in a non-Luke hole.” She shrugs, “He sort of grows on you, sort of like a sexually transmitted infection.” She laughs as she spins away from a fish.
Key laughs so hard that she almost trips and gives Rabbit an opening hit her in the ribs.
“I know how you feel. I was positive that I would hate him until one of us died. I like to think of him as more of a fungus. But that’s probably because I don’t want to have to think about his naughty bits.”
Rabbit laughs, “Actually his naughty bits are a lot of fun. It really would have been better if you had married that brother.”
She shifts around when she realizes that may have been uncomfortable. “Sorry Key, that was unthinking.”
She continues a bit of sparring, the blades seeming to finally find their rhythm when she continues, “Luke and Nestrim are really beautiful couple. Luke picked well with him, I wouldn’t have ever seen it myself. Luke is better off with him then me. At least he isn’t crazy town as Te’Teh calls it.”
Key just smiles and throws a punch at her hip that is a bit harder than intended.
“You need to stop that. You are just as important to Luke as Nestrim is. Every time you say something different I’ll find a creative way to remind you that what you’re saying is crap.” She dodges a few more swings of Rabbits swords and slids in close to pinch her before moving away again.
“Maybe something like that, so you know you need to wake up to reality and know that your valued, loved and respected by Luke and everyone else around you.”
Rabbit rubs her pinched spot with a small almost shocked look. “Ouch you are a bitch sometimes”, a smile coming quickly to her at that.
“I am not sure what is worse now that I have my mind to myself. The trance I can sometimes do where I relive everything or the dreams from sleep that get more creative about that. Despek doesn’t have control anymore, but it doesn’t make me any less crazy… maybe more because no one is guiding it. I think I am too high maintenance for Luke. He really spends a lot of time fixing me and he is eventually going to get tired of it, I am not sure if I want him to waste what time he does have.”
She limps slightly from the pinch and hit, “damn you are mean sister.”
Key rolls out of reach and ends in an intentional sprawl about a foot away. She’s smiling when she props herself on an elbow to look at her and her eyebrows are raised. She raises the two fingers she used to pinch her and makes the motion as she speaks.
“You haven’t even let the sting of the last one fade and your going to let me do it again. Luke loves you. He doesn’t see you as a project or a broken thing. None of us do. We are all here to help each other. Im sure I have things that are hard to work around but none of you have considered abandoning me for them. I’ll write the monks. I think that in helping with one issue it will help with all the others as well.” She wipes the sweat from her brow and falls back flat, lifting a leg to pull off her boots.
Rabbit flicks her wrists and smoothly slides her swords back into their scabbards. She walks over and crouches over Key’s knees and kisses her on the forehead.
Thank you for being my sister. Don’t worry this won’t be the only whining I will do. I am sure you will have plenty of tries to calm me”
Rabbit flops onto the ground beside key, solidly on her ass with her hands holding her up on each side of her as she turns her attention back to the clouds.
Key pulls off her other boot and lets it fall to the ground next to her as she chuckles.
“Some how I think I’ll you’ll get tired of it before I do. Have you seen Issy recently? How are the threw of you doing with her and the baby?”
Rabbit sits back thinking about the question.
“She has been pretty open and communicative. She is trying hard to get Luke to accept her presence.” Rabbit makes a hand motion pointing at herself and the open space, “We haven’t talked about things since I got cleansed, but she has left flowers.”
Rabbit looks worried, “I hope Luke takes the time to work with her, she makes a much better ally then enemy, and she could help us a lot.” Rabbit cocks her head to the side as if thinking.
Key puts her hands behind her head and shifts so she can look at Rabbit.
“I think he’ll make sure to work with her even if its just for his son. Is there anything you think that I could do to help?”
Rabbit shrugs, “Honestly I would just stay out of it. If Izzy says something bad, don’t say anything. Don’t try to help either. I think they will need to just work things out between them.”
Rabbit looks over at Key and smiles, “I did find I really liked how my body felt pregnant, probably the opposite of you huh?” She chuckles at that.
he runs her hands down her body as if running some sort of analysis.
“The loss of control was weird. My body changed so rapidly I couldn’t keep up. By the end I was as big as a ship. Honestly it was the not being able to fight that really bugged me. My body is changed permanently. But not in ways that really effect things much.”
Rabbit thinks for a few moments, “I think you would have fought just fine, my balance was off and I would have been tired after the fight but I think the fighting itself would have not been much harder, just maybe funnier for people watching.”
Rabbit looks over at Key, “Is Anglerond doing ok with you going off again? I know he has been outwardly supportive, but has he been inwardly supportive too?”
Key sits up to look at Rabbit with concern.
“He’s been fine. Have you noticed something?”
Rabbit looks worried, “No no no, I didn’t mean that. I haven’t seen him too much. I was just making sure you were ok.”
The tension eases out of her body. She smiles and shoves at her playfully.
“I can be horribly obtuse sometimes.” She flops back down on the grass.
“I should talk to him to make sure. Im sure your probably picking up some sort of nuance that I missed.”
Rabbit shakes her head,, “No, he hasn’t done anything. It’s me actually. I watch how patient and accepting Nestrim is and there is no way I could do that. It might help a bit that Nestrim has a couple of side pieces, but he has been seeing them less. I don’t know how he could stay home for months and not see Luke.”
“Its not easy. But we all have jobs to do. I know he enjoys his job and it takes up a lot of his time. The two of you are lucky though. I realize that Anglerond has the harder end of it between the two of us but I do miss him like mad while we are gone. I just keep telling myself that its all to achieve a goal and hopefully its not forever. Maybe that’s how Nestrim sees it too.” She shrugs.
Rabbit chuckles to herself, “Duty… there are days I wake up hating that word. Although I am glad it put me on the path to find you and Luke.”
Key leans over and puts her head on Rabbits shoulder.
“Duty isn’t easy, but it does give you good things sometimes. My masters used to always say that the reward for a job well done is more work. Or something along those lines.” She stands up and picks up her boots, holding out her hand to Rabbit.
“Lets go inside and play with the babies while we can. I think it will be a long time before we seen them again. I’d like to make sure they remember me when we cone home.” She winks at Rabbit.
Rabbit sighs slightly disappointedly, “Can I tell you something without sounding like a complete bitch?.”
she looks up at her sister and continues without waiting for a response. “I was really hoping to have Ira at the same time as yours. I completely understand Luke’s reluctance and I will honor it. Doesn’t mean though that I am not disappointed that I am still not pregnant. I am not really complaining, he is marrying me, he loves me. I know he is overwhelmed which is why I won’t push what we had agreed on. I am disappointed though. she looks away embarrassed by her disappointment.
Key sits back down next to her sister.“Im sorry. I should never have asked you to carry them. It was like rubbing salt in a wound. What if you asked Luke if you could stop using your wards? It could take you a long time to conceive. It’s not like you would be popping a potion. Is Ira the oldest?”
Rabbit takes Key’s hands in her own while she shakes her heads. “No no no, don’t feel bad about that. That was one of the most wonderful things I have ever gotten to do. You didn’t make me feel bad at all, it made me feel better.”
Her gaze becomes distant as she thinks, “I can’t ask him. He has already done a lot. He is running very busy and I don’t want him to feel pressured. We have talked, he knows I want babies and he will come to me when it’s time and he is ready.
Key lets out a breath a bit sad. “I just want you to be happy. It bothers me when anyone in my family until is unhappy. I feel myself running around looking for ways to rectify the issue.” She chuckles.
“Even when I can’t do anything about it.”
Rabbit chuckles. “Only if you could give me a baby, but Anglerond might get a little weird.”
She gets up, brushes herself off, “you know I would always take care of your babies if something happened to you and anglerond right?.
Key belly laughs. “Does it help that you can spend as much time as you want with mine? Maybe if Luke has to keep pulling you out of the nursery he’ll give you a baby just so he can see you. I know you would do anything for the twins. I wouldn’t trust them to anyone but you and Luke.”
Rabbit laughs. “You think he would get the hint? Definitely don’t give them to Sargon… that boy is weird and that makes me uncomfortable. I am even the one that has killed children and I find his attitude towards the sailors a little too much..”
“I don’t think it would take long, he’s smarter than he looks.” She shakes her head.
“Nope, Sargon will never be left alone with my children, or amy children if I can help it. I was really surprised by his attitude.”
Rabbit’s face becomes more serious. “There is something about him right now. I sometimes worry about Te’teh. She can be blind about people and… I guess I am just paranoid after what happened to Glorion.”
“I don’t think its a bad idea to keep an eye on him based on his behavior lately. We should give him the opportunity to explain himself if it comes to that point. He has earned at least that much.” She sighs, some of her irritation with Sargon leaking through.
“If he keeps it up Im kicking him out of the lighthouse though. Im not sure even that would wake him up to how he’s treating Te’Teh.”
Rabbit thinks about Key’s words and shakes her head. “I wouldn’t kick him out yet, things are getting a bit tense and you would be kicking out Te’Teh as well. We just won’t let him get away with hurting innocent people.”
She shrugs. “I was mostly kidding. I wish I knew where all this new behavior was coming from though.” She stands up again, motioning Rabbit to stand with her.
“Lets go back to the house and get some breakfast. You made me work for it earlier and Im starved.”
Rabbit smiles and rubs her stomach. “I would love some breakfast, there are a couple of boys that sleep real late when given the chance and I am not good at feeding myself. I always run out of beef jerky and hardtack.”
She smiles at Keyleth, “Besides, ever since I had the babies I am craving food, especially weird food.”
Key laughs and reaches down to pull Rabbit to her feet.
“You can always use the tunnel to pop over to the manor for a meal when needed.” She cocks her head and takes her in.
“I wonder if thats a normal side effect after carrying the babies like you did? Have you had Silkya look at you lately?”
Rabbit seems surprised “I haven’t seen Salkya at all. Do you think something is wrong?”
She pushes Key lightly, “Don’t worry I do sneak over, that is why I am here anyways. Well that and I wanted to see my sister.”
Key picks up her boots and starts walking back toward the house.
“I don’t know anything about all that magicie stuff. But I did stop craving weird things after I had the twins. It could be that your body is confused after only carrying the babies for a short time but I don’t think it would be a bad idea to be looked at just in case.” She looks over to Rabbit.
“Maybe we could head that way after breakfast.”
Rabbit does a little happy dance step then looks embarrassed and keeps walking“Sorry, was thinking about Luke and not having her in my head. Definitely we can go over there, I need to talk to her anyways, about how things work.” She absentmindedly touches the new Sekhmet necklace she wears.
Key smiles and her eyes go down to look at the new necklace then back to Rabbits face.
“Are you working toward becoming a priestess?” She bumps her with her hip.
“I’ll be able to take all my questions to you after a while.”
Rabbit smiles broadly, “I doubt the priestess thing would work. I am not good at tending to those more unfortunate, and I am not tricksy like Luke is. I am just good at killing things” a flicker across her face of possibly regret.
She winks at Key and her smile returns “You can come to me about generic questions though, I am going to learn all the loopholes like Luke does.” She bumps her sister back with her hip.
Key Chuckles. “Now well have two tricky little foxes. It just might be enough to keep me from getting us into trouble.” She laughs again.
“Or not. I do have an amazing capacity to step in it.”
Rabbit pushed Key alittle harder but still playfully, “You are a good person. The only thing is you are honest and emotional. You don’t lie, cheat or steal. Those are bad habits. You just have fun quirks.”
She leans up and gives Key a quick kiss on her cheek “You will always have your rabbit here. I am sure the actual fox will be here no matter what as well..”
Key walks through the door and down the hall toward the kitchen.
“Im glad I have the two of you, my Rabbit and my Fox. I couldn’t do any of this without you.” She turns a wraps her in a fierce hug then lets her go.
Contrary to when Key first met Rabbit, Rabbit hugs her back fiercely, no self-consciousness or anxiety about being touched like that, “You would have done just fine. You are good at finding people that can help you.”
Key starts to pull things out of the pantry and set them out on a small table in the kitchen.
“I think it was shear blind luck, but I’ll take it anyway.” She pulls out plates and sets them on the table.
“What do you think of the name Finya or Sarta? Sorry for the change in subject.”
Rabbit smiles, “I am unfamiliar with those names, where do they come from and do they mean anything specifically? They are nice sounding names.”
“I found them in an old book of names that Anglerond had. Finya means clever and Sarta means loyal or steadfast.” She starts to load up plates and sits down in one of the chairs.
“Its hard to find a name that doesn’t mean anything. Anglerond didn’t want them to have the excess baggage of having to live up to someone elses name.”
Rabbit chuckles and rolls her eyes as she loads up on enough food to feed an orc three times her size, “I don’t think he is worried about the meaning of the name, as in what it means. He is probably talking about names that famous people had, and having to live up to those famous people.”
She sits down on the chair beside Key, and starts eating as they talk.
She chews for a few moments while she thinks.
“You’re probably right. That would make finding names a whole lot easier.” She looks over to Rabbit.
“How do you feel about one of the babies having your name as a middle name? Yours for my little girl, and maybe Luke’s for our boy?”
Rabbit freezes in mid-chew. It takes her a few moments of thought, of absolute shock before she can respond. She sets the food back down and wipes her face. Feelings of shame and being unworthy war in her head as she breathes. She then takes a deep breath and smiles at Key shoving down her panic, “I think Luke would be a fantastic name.
She isn’t sure how to address her name though and it takes a few more seconds of recrimination until she thinks about what Salkya told her to do when she felt like this and she just accepts it, resulting and smiling at Key, “I am surprised you would want to give anyone my name. I would be honored of course, although I don’t think I am deserving of it. Are you thinking Rabbit, or Riia’Triss’ylene?”
Key takes note of Rabbits discomfort but doesn’t react to it in an attempt to make her sister more at ease. She looks down at her plate for a moment and pushes things around to give Rabbit a moment with out an intense gaze.
“Which would you be more comfortable with? I was leaning more toward Rabbit because that is who you are to me, who you’ve always been. Rabbit is the name you took when you decided to be the person you knew you could be. In a lot of ways I think that’s your true name.” She takes another bite of food and chews.
Rabbit smiles at her sister, “I would be honored.
Key smiles.“Would you like to change the subject? What should we talk about instead?” She nudges her with a foot inder the table.
Rabbit smiles again and shakes her head,, “No, it isn’t a bad subject. I never expected that question and honestly part of me doesn’t feel like I deserve it. If you want to talk about something, I always like talking about sex.” she winks at her sister and grins.
Key laughs. “While Im not opposed to the subject in general, once we get into specifics I think it could get uncomfortable for me rather quickly. I’d rather not hear about Luke or Nestrim’s boy parts. But for you, if that’s what you’d like to talk about then we will.” She says winking to emphasize her playful attitude.
Rabbit erupts into laughter, “Naw… I don’t want to be the only perv. Although the two of them at once is pretty incredible, but we won’t go into too much detail. On to something else… Is Nestrim actually putting together public schooling? I have heard other kingdoms that dabble into it, but not in any numbers.”
Key mock cringes, laughing.
“He is as far as I know. We had talked about it a while ago. I wanted to give kids from the warrens a chance at education if I could. Has he been talking to you about it?”
Rabbit sits back, “He thought I was going to have a baby pretty soon and wanted to know how I was going to bring her up. I told him I would do whatever Luke wanted and that I thought Luke was pro-school. I know Luke’s dad wants very expensive tutors for them.”
Key’s eyebrow’s come together, a bit of annoyance evident.
“I was hoping all the kids would go to school together. I trust Nestrim to get the best teachers he can find. I hope he doesn’t want to separate the children. Maybe I need to have a talk with the two of them.” She crams an irritated mouthful of food in her mouth.
Rabbit chuckles, “Talking would be good, although maybe you shouldn’t worry. I think Nestrim is going to try and talk Sidonai into providing well educated teachers for everyone.”
She chuckles, “My babies will be raised with yours. I guess it is advantageous that mine will be half-elven, so yours might get a headstart but they will still be kids together.”
“Your right, I shouldn’t worry, but I do. Maybe Im seeing things that aren’t there. It made me feel like Sid wants to split the kids up.” She shakes her head, trying to let it all go. She smiles and takes another bite of food.
Rabbit leans over and pats Key, “I don’t think Sid wants to split up the kids, for an infernal being he seems really child focused. You can always talk to him about it. He thinks your cute and he is your brother’s father now… HOLY SHIT you are related to him now.”
She bursts out laughing.
Key lets Rabbit laugh herself out.
“I like the thought of having such an eclectic family.” She says simply with a warm smile.
“It also means you and I are related now too.”
Rabbit leans over and hugs Key, “Maybe legally, but we have always been sisters… sister.”
She continues to hug and then sniffs Key’s hair… she starts chuckling to herself as if something was funny, “You know, it is acceptable for sisters to be intimate in the underdark…”, the snickering gets louder as she playfully sniffs Key’s hair even more awkwardly.
Key giggles and attempts to extricate herself from Rabbit.
“I love you but there are all kinds of reasons we shouldn’t do that. Most important among them are Luke ans Anglarond.”
Rabbit is almost purring when she lets go of Key and slaps her butt. She winks at Key, “It would be anglerond, Luke asks me fairly regularly if I want to see someone. He wouldn’t care.”
She lightly takes Key’s face in her hands, “I know you don’t swing towards women, you know I am joking when I play around like this. I truly don’t want to make you too uncomfortable, just the right sister amount of uncomfortable.”
Key kisses Rabbits forehead.
“I know, if you didn’t embarrass me from time to time Im not sure what I’d do.” She grins and pinches her cheeks.
Rabbit smiles at her sister, “Thank you for letting me carry the babies, it was the most fantastic thing. Now I just want to get pregnant. Although I am sure I would get pretty grumpy.”
“There’s no one else I would have trusted.” She pushes her plate away, done with her meal.
“Its the discomfort that made me grumpy. All of your insides getting crammed into a tiny space to make room.”
Rabbit shakes her head as she leans over, picking bits of the remaining food off of Key’s plate, “You were actually not very grumpy. I have seen women who were ten times louder and more violent. You handle being pregnant very well. So is that it for the two of you, just the two babies?”
Key makes a noncommittal noise.
“For now at least. I never really thought I’d have babies at all. We’ll see once the twins are a bit older. I don’t think it would be quite as deliberate as it was this time. If it happens it happens kind of thing.”
